Since 1993, Democracy Watch has been Canada's leading democratic reform, bank accountability advocacy organization. Most recently, it has launched its Stop Fossil Fuel Financing Campaign calling for three key changes to disclose and end financing by Canada's Big Banks, mutual fund companies and insurance companies of fossil fuel companies and other major carbon-emitting companies that are causing the climate crisis, and to empower financial consumers and individual investors to have a much greater say in how financial institutions use their money.
